I was born in Heidelberg, Germany as my mother was Deutsch and even though my father was am American citizen (his name was not on my birth certificate and my mother did not marry him) I was deported back to Germany after living in USA for 38 years. I had been sent to prison for more than one year and according to the immigration laws that can happen. I am curious about my chances of returning (after the "ten years") and what I must do to insure a return trip or is it possible to "visit" before the ten year time. Any help in this matter would be great.
I can only hope that the immigration laws change. A line needs to be drawn some where between violent and non-violent crimes. And speaking for myself, I grew-up as an American and had known no other life or culture.
Thanks for your help.
