LegalMatch's Chas Blackford Shares Tips on Conserving Water with the NY Times

Last week, Governor Jerry Brown announced mandatory cuts to water use across California. Now, all Californians are not only encouraged, but required to cut back. In a recent New York Times, article, LegalMatch's own Chas Blackford was interviewed. For example, Chas explains how he "recently installed a $500 gray-water system that lets him use water from the laundry machine on the drought-resistant plants in his yard."

Meet LegalMatch - Danielle Brown

Danielle Brown is currently attending San Francisco State University. She is majoring in communications and minoring in criminal justice. After receiving a bachelors in communication, Danielle plans to receive her paralegal certification to extend her knowledge in law.

In Danielle’s personal life, she enjoys traveling, running, and exploring San Francisco. She attends school full time, and expects to graduate in 2016. Originally born in Chicago, Danielle lived in Los Angeles before moving to San Francisco, where she has lived for two years.

Meet LegalMatch - Cesar Gomez

Cesar earned his Bachelors Degree in Communications from the University of San Francisco and his Juris Doctor from San Francisco Law School. While studying law, he worked for American Lawyer Media, managing attorney media accounts with The Recorder and other media outlets, and helping to build the LawJobs brand. Cesar also achieved many years of business development experience during his tenures with AutoTrader.com and other tech arena companies such as MCI WorldCom, GlobalKnowledge, as well as with American Lawyer Media.      

While working as the Director of Education at Arriba Juntos in San Francisco, he coordinated heavily with El Centro Legal de la Raza to support his clients. He also spent many years as a volunteer with the Coalition of Concerned Legal Professionals as an advocate for farm workers, traveling throughout the Central Valley interviewing clients and interpreting on behalf of member attorneys. He has also helped coordinate free Legal Advisory sessions for indigent and pro se clients with volunteer attorneys.

Meet LegalMatch - Sumair Khan

Sumair Khan earned his bachelor’s degree in Managerial Economics from University of California, Davis. Shortly after, he returned to Davis to earn his legal degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law. He recently gained admittance to the State Bar of California.

Sumair has a diverse legal background in both litigation and transactional work. He has a strong interest in learning about different areas of the law. As a Customer Support Specialist for LegalMatch in the South San Francisco office, he enjoys the opportunity to match attorneys with people seeking legal representation for various legal matters including immigration, business, family law, criminal, bankruptcy, real estate, and personal injury.

In his free time, Sumair enjoys writing scripts and occasionally performing stand-up comedy. He is a huge basketball fan, who avidly follows his hometown Sacramento Kings. Sumair is also an amateur boxer.

LegalMatch Doubles Ping Pong Tournament Champions!

Congratulations Peter and David, champions of the 2014 LegalMatch Doubles Ping Pong Tournament! The championship match was held on Friday, November 7th after four weeks of competition. In a battle for the best out of 5 games, Peter and David were tied 2-2 against Gill and Omneet before coming out ahead and winning the third game with a solid 7 point lead.

Meet LegalMatch - Kyoko Uchida

Kyoko Uchida is an interactive media designer with multilingual skills in English, Japanese and Spanish. She earned a bachelor of arts in international studies at Western Oregon University and went on to study interactive media/web design at the Art Institute of Portland.

KyokoKyoko's passion lies in cross-cultural online communication via both visual and textual representations on web application. She has achieved diverse experence working with client websites and advertising campaigns in various industries. She is committed to developing meaningful experiences for users through design. Since joining LegalMatch as UX designer in 2014, she has contributed to the development of affiliate websites, PPC campaigns, and various site usability projects.

In her personal life, Kyoko spends most of her free time being an aerial acrobat and a hand balancer. She also teaches aerial silks and helps people gain physical and mental strength through aerial arts.

Meet LegalMatch - Matthew Izzi

Matthew Izzi is a graduate of the University of South Florida, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature, and from Santa Clara University School of Law.

Matthew IzziHe is a criminal defense and constitutional law attorney, as well as a frequent contributor to LegalMatch’s online Law Library and Law Blog. He enjoys contributing the LegalMatch’s expansive online catalogue because it offers individuals who otherwise would not have access to information basic knowledge on complicated subjects.

Meet LegalMatch - Jose Rivera

Jose Rivera LegalMatchJose (Jay) Rivera joined LegalMatch in March 2010. As a senior staff writer, he writes on a wide range of legal topics for the LegalMatch law library. His articles provide easy-to-read replies for everyday legal questions that are posed by the general public. He is also a regular contributor to the LegalMatch’s Law Blog, where he covers new developments in various areas of law and current events. Meet LegalMatch - Peter Clarke

Peter Clarke earned his bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in philosophy at Western Washington University. He went on to complete his juris doctor at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

IMG_1014In 2013, Peter Clarke joined LegalMatch as content manager at the South San Francisco office. In this position, he manages a team of legal writers, curates the LegalMatch Law Library and the LegalMatch Law Blog, and oversees social media activities. Before joining LegalMatch, he gained experience in professional writing, editing, and SEO while working for several startup companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. He also recently  handled manuscript acquisitions at a literary agency.

In his personal life, he enjoys playing the guitar, biking, and traveling. As a fiction writer, he's had over 40 short stories published in literary journals. He volunteers as an assistant editor for Fifth Wednesday Journal, a literary journal based in Chicago. Native to Port Angeles, Washington, he currently lives in San Francisco.
